Two years in a row , these teams met in the playoffs and both were very intensive and close series, which created a little rivalry between these teams. It s impossible to believe that Lebron James sees this one as an opportunity to rest. Detroit never managed to stop him so far although they are one of the best defensive teams in the league .

Detroit is completing a four-game homestand after suffering its first loss at the Palace, 103-93 to Utah on Sunday. The Pistons played without forward Rasheed Wallace, who was out with a left knee injury but expects to return tonight. He will have an impact on the game , but his last performances against the Cavs didn t impressed .
The loss of Wallace was clearly felt inside, as Utah’s Carlos Boozer made 17 of 20 shots for 36 points and also had 11 rebounds.
After all , it s a pretty good thing to see the Cavs with a +9 spread , when they won against the Celtics being underdogs by 4 . Overall i think will be a close game , and the spread will count on our favor .

Martin Gerber likely will be back in net for Ottawa, which has yet to lose consecutive games this season. Gerber has a league-high 13 victories and is 2-0-0 in as many games lifetime versus Pittsburgh despite a 3.01 goals-against average.
On the other side, both Crosby and the Penguins (8-11-2) are trying to bounce back after a 2-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday. Not only did he have his 19-game points streak end in the defeat, he also took a tripping penalty that led to a power-play goal that created a two-goal deficit in the third period Pittsburgh could not overcome.
Sidney Crosby and his Pittsburgh Penguins were run out of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals last season by the Ottawa Senators in five games.

The Wizards showed they can win a game without Gilbert Arenas , but considering all the latest reports he will be back in the line up for tonight s game . Arenas sat out the Wizards’ most recent victory – a 109-90 rout of Portland on Saturday – due to lingering complications from offseason knee surgery. He has had fluid removed from the knee twice in three weeks, but Wizards coach Eddie Jordan expects his star back to face the 76ers.

“It seems like he’s going to play,” said Jordan after practice on Monday. “Our policy is that whenever we can give him some time off, we will.”

Washington has to feel confident in itself regardless of Arenas’ status .They won the last 4 games by 11, 13 , 16 , 19 points … and scored more than 100 points in each victory.

Philadelphia rallied to defeat Portland 92-88 on Friday to snap a four-game losing streak.

Philadelphia missed its first 14 shots of the game and trailed by as many as 25 points before beginning its comeback. Louis Williams scored all 19 of his points in the second half, and Andre Iguodala had a team-high 22 points for the 76ers, who scored 65 points in the second half.
Scoring has been a problem so far for Philadelphia, which is averaging just 89.1 points per game. Injuries to forwards Kyle Korver (groin strain) and Jason Smith (sprained ankle) have compounded the problem, but the rally against Portland has given the team some hope.

From what we see in here , Was looks very determinated to win and to get back for a good place in their division , and Philly is struggling and , the most important thing , is not scoring very well . The 76′ers always had a slow start of the game , but they managed to comeback late in the 4th quarter .

The Wizards have won three straight meetings with the 76ers overall, and haven’t lost at home to Philadelphia since April 9, 2005.

Big night for the Grizzlies !
They managed to score big time again against a really tired team , Seattle.
Swift scored a season-high 24 points, Mike Miller added 19 points and seven assists and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Seattle SuperSonics 125-108 on Monday night.

“I just tried to move without the ball,” said Swift, who was 10-of-14 from the field. “They were focused on Pau (Gasol) mostly, and I was able to get open and get easy baskets. That helped me out a lot.”

Damon Stoudamire had 16 points and seven assists, and Hakim Warrick added 16 for the Grizzlies, who stopped a three-game skid. Gasol had 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and seven blocks, one short of his career high for rejections.

The Grizzlies (2-7) also got off to a slow start, but they’ve improved in the last week. Their progress, however, hasn’t shown up in their record. After beating Houston last Tuesday, Memphis has lost three straight games by a combined eight points.

Memphis will not reach playoffs but they should cover today. Last week they won against Rockets at home but since then recorded three narrow losses against solid teams: Bucks (3points, away), NO (2 points, at home) and Mavs (3 points away). Now they face Sonics at home and great opportunity to win in double digit. Grizzlies have balanced rooster with solid players on almost all positions. Seattle is very unstable team. They grabbed two wins in East (especially won over Heat was surprise) but also two blowouts. Durant can’t keep his FG high. I expect that Gasol, Gay and Miller will do job here. Those two teams met earlier in Seattle and Grizzlies won 105-98. Liking the fact that Grizzlies just lost 3 tight matches, they should step up. Sonics being down by 10-15 points shouldn’t come back near spread . As we know , they gonna try a lot of 3 pointers late in the game .

A great game for K Martin , a great game for the Kings !

Martin scored a career-high 43 points Friday night in a 123-118 double-overtime victory over the New York Knicks. The Kings won the 2nd OT 16-11 .

“It’s always good to do it and get the win. Last year I got 40 and we lost (to Washington),” Martin said.

Despite Martin’s effort, there was nothing easy about this victory, which snapped the Kings’ two-game losing streak. Sacramento squandered a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Knicks missed chances to win the game in both regulation and overtime.

“They had two chances to win the game, so I told the guys before the second overtime we can’t give them a third,” Kings guard Beno Udrih said.

Ron Artest had 28 points and eight rebounds for the Kings. Salmons scored 16 points and Brad Miller had 12 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out in the first overtime.

“It was a good win for a team that in the past has had trouble winning close games, but we’ve got to learn from it because we made mistakes down the stretch that we have to get better from,” Kings coach Reggie Theus said.
