Scoring has been a problem so far for Philadelphia, which is averaging just 89.1 points per game. Injuries to forwards Kyle Korver (groin strain) and Jason Smith (sprained ankle) have compounded the problem, but the rally against Portland has given the team some hope.

Toronto started this season really good with 2 wins … but blew it immediately with 3 loses in a row . Last night though , after a really good game they won in Philadelphia 105-103 .
Chris Bosh had 24 points and 10 rebounds while Anthony Parker added 22 and six. Bosh also made a key play on the defensive end when he blocked a potential tying layup from Andre Miller with five seconds left.
Bosh was 16-of-18 at the line, including three free throws in the final 20 seconds after Philadelphia had cut the lead to one point. Bosh is 48-of-52 (92.3 percent) from the line in six games, while going 26-of-66 (39.3 percent) from the field.

With his team coming in mired in the losing streak, Raptors coach Sam Mitchell replaced the inconsistent Andrea Bargnani in the lineup with Rasho Nesterovic. The slovenian was scoreless in 12 minutes while Bargnani had nine points.
The situation requires more involvement by Bargnani , and tonight he could play for his starting spot in the team . He needs to prove his abilities otherwise Sam Mitchell will take actions against him . Nesterovic doesn’t offer the kind of offensive upside starting Bargnani does, but at the same time Bargnani can’t give Mitchell what he needs under his own basket the way Nesterovic can.

The key to the game will be Chris Bosh on Tyrus Thomas. Thomas is coming off his best game of the year in the win over the Pistons on Thursday. He was active on both ends of the floor and will give Bosh everything he can handle. Thomas played in 72 games last year but made just four starts so he’s new to the role but based on the Detroit game, quite capable.

Toronto, 2-2, now has lost two games in a row after opening the season with a win over Philadelphia and a huge 106-69 victory over the Nets in New Jersey. Starting centre Andrea Bargnani, who has been arguably Toronto’s best player so far this season, played only 13 minutes, scoring five with three boards. Forward Kris Humphries did provide a spark off the bench, scoring 16 with nine rebounds. Juan Dixon added 20 off the bench.
On a positive note, as difficult as it was to find one, Jason Kapono’s three-pointer in the first quarter last night established Toronto as the first team in NBA history to go 700 consecutive games with a three-pointer made. Orlando’s Dwight Howard has four straight double-doubles and is coming off his best effort of the young season. That could be bad news for Toronto, as its own All-Star forward still is recovering from an injury. Howard collected season highs of 28 points and 16 rebounds to lead Orlando (3-1) to a 111-103 victory over Minnesota on Tuesday. Despite a 110-point performance in a win over New York on Friday, Cleveland has spent most of its time searching for offense. Despite Yi’s progress, Redd is still the key to a struggling Bucks offense that managed only 32 points in the first half against Chicago. The Bucks are tied with the Bulls for the second-worst offense in the league at 86.7 points per game. Even though it s still early in the season , Houston looks really good this year . The Rockets haven’t made a leap offensively yet, averaging 96.7 points, but they’re 3-0 for the first time since the 1996-97 season when they won their first six games and finished 57-25. The fast start is due in large part to defense, as Houston is allowing 89.3 points per game - fifth fewest in the NBA.

The Rockets gave up an average of 92.1 points last season, third-best in the league.

Houston beat Portland 89-80 on Saturday despite shooting 39.6 percent from the field. The Rockets held the Trail Blazers to 40.8 percent shooting and outscored them 40-22 in the paint.

Yao Ming had 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Tracy McGrady added 20 points and six assists for Houston. The rest of the starters combined for just 17 points.
Unlike the previous two games when they fell behind early, the Rockets jumped out to a 18-4 lead and built the advantage to 22 early in the second quarter.
The Rockets held the Blazers to 12 points in the opening period.

Dallas (2-1), which averaged 100 points per game last season and had the league’s fifth-best shooting percentage at 46.7, rolled past Sacramento 123-102 on Saturday. The Mavs shot 65.2 percent - just shy of their best-ever mark of 67.7 set in 1983 - and connected on seven 3-pointers. Dallas bounced back from an ugly 101-94 loss to Atlanta the previous day. The Mavericks opened their season with an 18-point win over Cleveland on Wednesday .

Ford, who averaged a career-high 14.0 points last season, and Calderon, who averaged 8.7 points and 5.0 assists, were two of the only Raptors players who consistently played well during the postseason series against the Nets.
On Wednesday, there was plenty of offensive support. Andrea Bargnani scored 20 points, Chris Bosh added 16 and Anthony Parker had 13.

Once Toronto was ousted by New Jersey in the playoffs, there was doubt that the NBA’s Coach of the Year would be back. How serious would the Raptors be about keeping someone everyone assumed would be let go when the year began? Colangelo’s initial offer was more than fair, making it difficult for Indiana and Charlotte, who were after Mitchell’s services, to even compete. The Raptors were not only the best job, but they also ponied up the dough. Mitchell received a four-year deal that pays him more than $3 million per season, not to mention incentives.

Jason Kapono was signed to help the Raptors improve from the perimeter, which should be beneficial considering they’re always going to look to push the tempo and try and get open looks in transition. He and Carlos Delfino are the only acquisitions who figure to get any significant playing time this season, so Toronto should be cohesive from the start. Bargnani, Garbajosa and Parker now have a full understanding of what the NBA is about, both from a travel standpoint as well as what goes on out on the floor. Bosh is more used to being the focal point.
