Kobe vs Lebron tonight – who’s better ?
The NBA is treating us with a feast tonight, one of the biggest NBA rivalries , Miami Heat at LA Lakers – at Staples Center.
Two of the most exponential faces of the league, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are facing in a game that could decide the faith of the season for the Lakers.
Lebron James, the league MVP – at 28 years, 17 days – became the youngest player in NBA history to score 20,000 points, and also surpassed 5,000 assists. Bryant held the previous record, reaching 20,000 points at 29 years, 122 days. Congratulions Lebron for another NBA record.
On the last game against the Golden State , Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers scored 15 points , while Chris Bosh added 11 for Miami, and outscored the home team 22-5 in transition. WIth a much better transition game, the HEat manage to close games by having some excellent stretches , especially in the 2nd half of the games.
Interesting fact , the Heat held on the bench James, Wade and Bosh the entire fourth quarter against Golden State. The Heat are 4-1 in the second of back-to-backs.
On the other side, finally the Lakers managed to get something going and won two games at home against two tired teams, Cleveland and Milwaukee With lots of starting line ups, Lakers basically blew the first part of the season , they say, due to injuries. I will dare to contradict that . This team needs time to glue together, it’s hard to have all the newcomers and adjust to the Lakers style of play where Kobe dictates what happens on the court. Unfortunately for them, time is precious and the Lakers bench did not step up to the challenge to help either . We noticed modest numbers from Duhon , Jamison, Clark.
On a funny note , it’s hard to understand how a player like Meeks managed to make it to this level…
Gasol it’s expected to return, but will see him probably limited minutes and will be a bit rusty.
For the Lakers it’s a race against the clock towards the NBA playoffs for the rest of the regular season. I predict they will make it eventually , but they need to win the direct games vs the West Conf contenders.
A few NBA trends to take inconsideration for this game.
Lakers are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four vs. NBA Southeast foes.
Under is 4-0 in Lakers’ last four overall.
Heat are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings.
Underdog is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings.
At this point Miami just seems to be a better team all together. They have been more constant and Lebron proved to be a better leader than Kobe on both sides of the court . Unless something extrordinary happens, Our free NBA tip for tonight’s game is going on the NBA underdog
