Saturday Night NBA teaser
Saturday night and the NBA league has a few interesting games for us tonight.
We’ll take on another NBA teaser containing two teams that we had in our NBA picks throughout the season.
Miami at Sacramento
Miami was in Portland on Thursday favorite by 3.5 to the Trail Blazers. All looked well for the Heat who took a 13-point lead into the intermission, thanks to Chris Bosh’s 14 points in the first half.
But things began to unravel in the third quarter, and really went down hill in the final eight minutes of the contest when a 12-point lead evaporated. Portland closed on a 24-10 run for the 92-90 upset. The loss left the Heat 0-2 to begin this trip, and just 1-3 in their last four. Miami is now just 7-8 away from home, 5-10 against the spread after failing to cover for the fifth consecutive time outside of Miami.
I don’t foresee the same scenario happening tonight, Sacramento is not Portland. The Heat needs to win away games in order to keep that 1st seed in the East for the NBA playoffs.
Memphis at Dallas
Memphis (24-10) has put together four-game winning streaks both overall and on the road to move within 1 1/2 games to the Spurs. Memphis is 6-27 all-time at Dallas, dropping the most recent visit 95-85 on April 4. However, that’s the Grizzlies’ only defeat in the past six overall match ups, and they beat the Mavericks 92-82 behind 26 points from Gay on Dec. 21.
Dallas (14-23) are trying to win back-to-back games for the first time since a three-game winning streak Dec. 6-10. They’re 3-13 since, surrendering an average of 106.8 points in that stretch, although they ended a four-game skid by beating Sacramento 117-112 in overtime on the road Thursday. This OT win stopped a black stretch of 0-6 OT games.
This can be the shift of momentum for Dallas and what better way to do it than at Home in front of their own fans. Interesting to see the MAvs as NBA underdogs this time of the year, after winning the NBA title two years ago.
O.J. Mayo had 24 points, a season-high 10 rebounds and five assists Thursday after averaging 14.7 points on 34.8 percent shooting – 3 for 21 from beyond the arc – over the previous three games. Vince Carter had 14 points and seven boards in that meeting, and he’s coming off a 23-point performance Thursday
Tonight’s free NBA pick is actually another NBA teaser , played at NBA betting at Bodog – US friendly .
