The Angels will try to keep this run going as they send one of their best pitchers to the mound today in Saunders.Saunders 7 - 2, 3.62 era has been fairly good of late,he has won 2 of his last 3 starts and beaten Boston and Texas with a loss to Toronto,his numbers against the A’s this year are 1 - 0 in 2 starts this season with an era of 3.65,career wise his numbers read 2 - 0 with an era of 5.40.The Angels are 3 - 1 in Saunders last 3 starts against the A’s.
The A’s will counter with Blanton,Blanton 11-9 , 3.88 era,he has not faced the Angels this year but has career numbers of 2 - 6 with an era of 3.69. Oakland has a record of 2 - 3 in Blantons last 5 starts in LA.Blanton has two wins and a loss in his last 3 starts he won against Detroit and Toronto but was chased from his match against the Devil Rays quite badly with the A’s finishing 11- 1 losers.
The Angels are very hot right now and even though I think they may lose to Di Nardo today,I don’t think they will lose two in a row to Oakland,the A’s are just not playing as well as they can and have’nt been for a while now,their usual great second half of the season has not appeared this season and it’s not likely it will either,they are just not playing well enough to string wins together against the top teams and against the Angels who are just so hot now it would be near on impossible.
Apart from the Angels being hot,Blantons shaky record of late and Saunders great record against the A’s the other reason I really like the Angels today is because the A’s are 20 - 21 against Right handed pitchers while the Angels are 66 - 40 against Righties,I like the Angels and Saunders here today by 3 runs,Good Luck.
